‘The Emperor’ is going through some troubled times and is currently in Brazil receiving clinical rehabilitation for depression.  

Some reports in the press, including quotes attributed to Milan star Ronaldo, hinted that Adriano had not received enough support from Inter as he attempts to fight his demons.  

However Recoba, who spent ten years at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza before moving on loan to Torino this summer, does not accept this theory.  

“After 10 years at Inter I can say that it’s impossible that the club let him down,” El Chino told Studio Sport.

“I think that they have done everything they can to help him and now it’s down to him to sort himself out.

“If he can turn things around and bring himself out of this he will be L’Imperatore once more.”  

Recoba had his own share of problems while at Inter as despite his undoubted natural ability, he never really fulfilled his potential.  

So how is life in Turin?  

“Here you can work quietly and I have a good chance of playing,” he responded. “I’m here until June and then we will have to see. I know that I can return to Inter or I could stay here at Torino.”
